How it differs from a normal car, what to check before the season and why the workshop matters?
A campervan behaves differently from a car: it’s heavier, taller, stands still for most of the year and then covers thousands of kilometres fully loaded in a few weeks. That’s a completely different wear profile — brakes, tyres and fluids age here from standing rather than from mileage.
There’s also a practical issue: not every workshop can take a vehicle three metres tall and seven long. We have the space and the lift for it, so your campervan doesn’t have to wait for service “somewhere it will fit”.

We handle the chassis mechanics and everything that determines whether the campervan gets you there safely:
- Oil and filter changes — with oil matched to a heavily loaded engine

Before the season — what to check
A campervan that stood all winter needs more attention than a daily driver. Before the first trip we check:
- Tyre condition and age — rubber hardens from standing, not from kilometres
- The starter battery and the leisure battery
- Fluids — oil, brake, coolant, washer
- Brakes — after a long stand, discs can seize with rust
- Lighting and the towing electrics
- Sealing — traces of damp are the most common problem in stored campervans
Winterising a campervan
A campervan properly prepared for winter needs only an inspection in spring, not repairs. When winterising we look at:
- Protecting the fuel system and fluids
- Disconnecting and topping up the batteries
- Relieving the suspension and tyres during storage
- Drying out the living area — damp is the main enemy of the build
- Checking seals and the spots prone to leaks

We handle the chassis mechanics and the 12 V electrical system (a separate service: campervan electrics). We don’t do joinery or plumbing in the build — but we’ll tell you exactly what needs doing.
Usually one working day, depending on the scope. Book early — in spring the slots fill quickly, because everyone prepares their campervan at the same time.
