Ozone treatment and cabin disinfection

Ozone treatment and cabin disinfection

An unpleasant smell from the vents, cigarette smoke or damp in the cabin? Ozone treatment removes the cause of the odour — bacteria, mould and fungi in the ventilation system — instead of just masking it with a fragrance.

Book ozone treatment — Wrocław and area

Ozone treatment takes about an hour and removes odours at their source. Book a slot at our workshop or with call-out to your address — it works well combined with an air conditioning service.

We carry out ozone treatment at the workshop and with call-out across: Wrocław, Bielany Wrocławskie, Długołęka, Kiełczów, Siechnice, Smolec, Radwanice, Żerniki Wrocławskie, Żórawina, Miękinia, Kąty Wrocławskie, Kobierzyce, Iwiny, Kamieniec Wrocławski and the surrounding area.

Worth knowing

Ozone treatment

How it works, what it removes and when it’s worth doing?

Ozone is a strong oxidiser that destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould. In a car it reaches everywhere air does — the ventilation ducts, the evaporator, the upholstery and the headlining — places you simply can’t reach with a cloth.

That’s why ozone treatment doesn’t mask smells but removes their cause. It works especially well on cigarette smoke, damp, the “sock” smell from the air conditioning and odours from pets or spilled food.

  • How long does the treatment take?

  • When is it worth doing?
  • Do you also do air conditioning disinfection?

What ozone treatment removes

Ozone reaches every corner of the cabin and the ventilation system. It works effectively against:

  • Cigarette smoke embedded in the upholstery and headlining
  • The musty “sock” smell from the air conditioning
  • Bacteria, viruses and fungi in the ventilation ducts
  • Mould after flooding or long-term damp
  • Pet odours and smells from spilled food
  • Allergens and mite waste in the upholstery

How the treatment works

The process is simple and takes about an hour. The car has to be closed and empty for that time.

  • We place the ozone generator inside the closed car
  • We run the ventilation on recirculation so the ozone reaches the ducts
  • The treatment runs for around 30–60 minutes depending on the cabin size
  • We then air the car thoroughly
  • After airing, the car is ready to use

When is it worth doing?

Ozone treatment is worth considering not just when something already smells:

  • After buying a used car — especially from a smoker
  • When there’s a musty smell from the vents
  • Before selling the car — a fresh cabin makes a better impression
  • After flooding, a leak or long-term damp
  • Once or twice a year as a preventive measure, with the air conditioning service
  • When someone in the family has allergies

Ozone treatment and the air conditioning service

The smell from the vents usually comes from the evaporator, so the best results come from combining ozone treatment with an air conditioning service — cleaning the source and disinfecting the whole system.

  • Cabin filter replacement — a dirty filter is a source of odour
  • Evaporator cleaning and disinfection
  • Refrigerant refill and a leak check
  • Ozone treatment as the final step
  • The whole job in one visit — at the workshop or with call-out

FAQ — everything worth knowing about ozone treatment

Not everything has to be obvious — so we’ve prepared short answers to the questions we get asked most often. Quick, clear and to the point.

The treatment itself is about 30–60 minutes, plus airing the car afterwards. In practice allow around an hour and a half from arrival to driving away.

Yes, when done correctly. During the treatment nobody may be inside the car, and afterwards the vehicle is aired thoroughly. Once aired, the ozone breaks down into ordinary oxygen and leaves no residue.

Yes — it’s one of its most effective uses. Ozone reaches the upholstery, headlining and ventilation ducts where the smoke has settled. For heavily smoked-in cars a second treatment is sometimes needed.

If the source is removed — the dirty cabin filter, a damp evaporator, a leak — the effect is lasting. That’s why we recommend combining ozone treatment with an air conditioning service and a filter change.

Yes. Campervans are a natural fit for the treatment — damp and cooking odours settle in the living area. Because of the larger volume the treatment takes longer, so let us know when booking.
