Clutch replacement

Clutch replacement

Clutch slipping, juddering on take-off or a rattle at idle? We diagnose the clutch and the dual-mass flywheel, then replace the complete kit. A serious repair, so you get the quote before we start.

Check availability

Enter your postal code and check whether we come to your address.

Book a clutch replacement — Wrocław and area

Tell us the make, model and symptoms — we’ll select the right kit and quote parts and labour before the repair. The car stays in the workshop for the job; on request we’ll collect it and bring it back afterwards.

We collect and deliver cars across, among others: Wrocław, Bielany Wrocławskie, Długołęka, Kiełczów, Siechnice, Smolec, Radwanice, Żerniki Wrocławskie, Żórawina, Miękinia, Kąty Wrocławskie, Kobierzyce, Iwiny, Kamieniec Wrocławski and the surrounding area.

Worth knowing

Clutch replacement

When the clutch wears out, what the kit includes and what the dual-mass flywheel does?

The clutch transmits drive from the engine to the gearbox and is a wearing part — its life depends heavily on how the car is driven. City traffic, towing and pulling away with high revs shorten it significantly.

A clutch replacement means removing the gearbox, so it makes sense to replace the complete kit at once: the disc, pressure plate and release bearing, and on many cars the dual-mass flywheel too. Doing it in stages means paying for the same labour twice.

  • How do you know the clutch is worn?
  • What does a clutch kit include?
  • What is a dual-mass flywheel and when does it need replacing?
  • How long does a clutch replacement take?
  • How can you make a clutch last longer?

Symptoms of a worn clutch

A clutch usually wears out gradually — the earlier you react, the lower the risk of being stranded. Typical signs:

  • The revs rise but the car doesn’t accelerate (slipping)
  • Juddering and vibration when pulling away
  • A high or “soft” clutch pedal biting point
  • Difficulty engaging gears, grinding on the shift
  • A rattle at idle that disappears when you press the pedal (dual-mass flywheel)
  • A burning smell after driving uphill or in traffic

What we replace

Because the gearbox has to come out, we replace everything that would need doing again soon:

  • Clutch disc and pressure plate
  • Release bearing (and the hydraulic slave cylinder where fitted)
  • Dual-mass flywheel — if worn, or a single-mass conversion where possible
  • Clutch master and slave cylinders when they leak
  • A gearbox oil seal check while everything is apart

Dual-mass flywheel — replace or not?

The dual-mass flywheel damps engine vibration and protects the gearbox. It wears out too, and a worn one destroys a new clutch — so we always assess its condition during the repair.

  • We measure the play and check the condition of the flywheel
  • We advise honestly whether it needs replacing this time
  • We present the cost of both options before deciding
  • On some cars a single-mass conversion is possible — we’ll say when it makes sense

How the repair works with us

A clutch replacement is a full-day job in the workshop. We work to a plan and keep you informed at every stage.

  • Diagnosis and confirmation that the clutch really is the problem
  • A quote for the kit and labour before the work starts
  • Replacement of the complete kit with the flywheel checked
  • A test drive and clutch adjustment after the repair
  • Car collection and delivery on request

Take care of your engine and... battery!

Every service we provide includes a free battery check. We don’t just change the oil and filters — we also make sure your car starts every time you need it.

FAQ — everything worth knowing about clutch replacement

Not everything has to be obvious — so we’ve prepared short answers to the questions we get asked most often. Quick, clear and to the point.

It depends on the car and whether the dual-mass flywheel needs replacing — the difference can be significant. Give us the make, model and engine and we’ll prepare a specific quote before the repair.

Usually a full working day, sometimes longer on all-wheel-drive cars or ones with a difficult layout. We give you a realistic time when booking.

It’s best not to. A slipping clutch overheats and can damage the flywheel and even the gearbox, which raises the cost of the repair considerably. Come in as soon as you notice the symptoms.

Not always — it depends on its condition and mileage. We check it during the repair and advise honestly. A worn flywheel will destroy a new clutch, so we never skip that check.

From about 100,000 to over 200,000 km depending on driving style. City traffic, towing and pulling away at high revs shorten its life; smooth driving significantly extends it.
